Modified plastics

ArtPET® PET is a less popular technical material, but it has many advantages. Crystallized PET (mould temperature approx. 140°C) has high stiffness and tensile strength (comparable to PA6), but has a much lower impact strength. Special HI varieties prepared by us have a slightly lower tensile strength but their impact strength is 100% higher and approaches the impact strength of PA6.

ArtPET® is available in 2 versions:
Series 400 – modified material based on high-quality secondary PET
Series 800 – modified material based on primary PET

Advantages:

– high maximum operating temperature (200°C in continuous operation, 240°C temporarily)
– very high stiffness
– high tensile strength
– HI version is characterized by high impact strength
– excellent sliding properties and abrasion resistance
– low-cost recycled 400 series, offering parameters comparable to primary PET
– can be modified for long-term operation at high temperatures (around 200°C)

Limitations:

– low impact strength of the standard version
– higher specific gravity (about 15% higher than PA6)
– dryer with dehumidifier required for drying
– molds must be heated to 140°C (oil heater required)

ArtPET® plastics contain lubricating (release) agent and antioxidants for processing stabilization. Most types can be colored in mass and subjected to following modification:
UV – protected against UV radiation

HR – adapted to work at elevated temperatures
